Which Laser Eye Surgery Procedures Are There?

There are currently three laser procedures available for people with myopia and astigmatism, which are PRK, LASIK and Smile. And I put them in that order because PRK is the original laser treatment which has been done since the early nineties. Great results. The only issue is it’s a long recovery and then came LASIK in the mid nineties. Excellent results, very quick recovery, but there’s always a risk of knocking a flap on the front of the eye, which remains throughout life. And then the newest technology is Smile, which has been around for over a decade now, which is increasing hugely in number every year. And that has the benefit of a quick recovery like LASIK, but without the risk of a flap.
