Are there surgical alternatives to SMILE, LASIK and PRK for high astigmatism?

Intraocular Contact Lens (ICL’s)

A good option for those not suited to having a corneal procedure to treat astigmatism.

ICL’s can treat astigmatism up to -7.00 dioptres. This is a great procedure for patients that are experiencing some difficulty seeing properly due to the curvature on the cornea and the difficulty correcting the vision in their glasses. ICL’s  provide an excellent alternative for the day to day visual requirements for people with high astigmatism.

LASIK can usually treat up to -5.00 dioptres of astigmatism, so our best advice is to book a consultation, here we can check your ocular health and make an informed decision based on your unique eyes.

All surgical procedures carry a small risk of complication, these are discussed in detail at the time of your consultation.
