When can you exercise after LASIK?

LASIK surgery is very accurate, and the recovery is really quick.

It’s important to remember that with LASIK, we create a flap in the cornea. That flap is a little bit delicate, particularly in the first week, so we encouraged you to take it easy for that week. You can run and do most exercises, but I definitely wouldn’t encourage any contact sport, particularly boxing, football or soccer games within the first week of the surgery.

After a week, you can carry on doing all your normal sporting activities. You’ll be able to see better to do them as well, which is really great!

If you’d like to know if you’re a good candidate to have laser surgery, then I would encourage you to take our suitability quiz. It takes a few minutes of your time and gives you a good idea if you can take the next step to gain better vision without glasses and contact lenses. If you have any questions or would like to speak with one of our friendly experts, you can book an appointment online, or give us a call on 03 8372 0187 and we’ll assist you.
