Can laser eye surgery correct the need for reading glasses?
The need for reading glasses happens to everybody at around about the age of 45 to 50. This is called presbyopia.
Traditionally, eye laser surgery could only treat shortsightedness or farsightedness and astigmatism. It couldn’t treat the need for reading glasses.
But now, at Eye Laser Specialists, we’re very excited because we offer PRESBYOND eye laser surgery correction. This new treatment is essentially modified LASIK surgery. It allows us to offer patients the ability to adjust their vision so that they can see in the distance, can read a computer, and read a book without the need of putting glasses on and off the whole time.
We’re very excited to be the first clinic in Melbourne to offer this fantastic new surgery.
Hi. My name is Dr. Anton van Heerden from Eye Laser Specialists. If you want to see if you’re a good candidate to have eye laser surgery, then I would encourage you to take the self-test. It will take a few minutes of your time and give you a good idea if you can take the next step into getting better vision without glasses and contact lens.
