Does LASIK work for reading glasses?
The difficulty with being able to read and needing reading glasses is called presbyopia. Presbyopia occurs in everybody around the age of 45 to 50.
If you opt for LASIK laser eye surgery to correct your distance vision or to correct your shortsightedness, then you’re still going to require glasses to read. There is a new procedure that we can do here at Eye Laser Specialists called Presbyond laser blended vision. It’s essentially an updated version of LASIK surgery used to treat presbyopia and give you the ability to see in the distance and without your reading glasses. So if you’re over the age of 45 or 50, we do have an option for you to eliminate your need for reading glasses.
To see if you are a good candidate to benefit from our laser surgery, I’d encourage you to book an appointment now.
