How was Kerryn Roadley’s laser eye surgery experience?
I myself had Dr. Van Heerden do my laser eye surgery, and I was a good candidate for SMILE.
For the last 20 or so years, I’ve worn glasses and contact lenses and this is something that I’ve always wanted to do, I guess, more so for an appearance thing. It regained a bit of my confidence.
The surgery isn’t painful at all. So before you go into the theatre, you’ll have some numbing drops put in your eyes. And then as you lay down on the bed in the theatre, you’ll also have some more drops put in. So you don’t feel anything at all. Immediately after surgery, you can see, your vision is a little bit blurry, but my vision had improved to what it was like if I wasn’t wearing glasses or contact lenses.
And then over the first night, my vision kept improving and then I’d wake up the next morning and had excellent vision. And then the following week, it actually kept improving again and became a lot more crisp and sharp. I did have a few dry eye symptoms before I had the surgery. And again, after, I was using lubricating drops probably for a week after surgery. And that was just to reduce the dry eye. And after that week, I’ve had no more issues regarding my dry eye.
I’m so grateful that I had laser eye surgery done, and I couldn’t be happier with my results.
