What are the lens replacement risks?

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

The main risk of lens replacement surgery is the risk of infection. So that’s our main concern. We take every precaution we can to reduce that risk. The risk of getting an infection at the time of the surgery is about one in 2000 with each operation3. So this is really very low.

The other risk of lens replacement surgery is that we might not get the exact lens right at the time of surgery. This means you may require a slight top-up or correction with further laser correction. But, again, the risk of that’s extremely low, and with modern lenses and modern lens formulas, we very seldom have to do that.
