What is Lipiflow?
LipiFlow is a special treatment where you will have this special device on your eyes. It heats your eyelids to about 42.5 degrees, and at the same time as that heat, it’s going to massage your eyelids. And that way, it improves the tear film.
The LipiFlow treatment takes about 15 minutes in total. We usually do both eyes together. You may choose to do one eye first, and then the second eye after that. There’s no pain with LipiFlow. It just feels a little bit odd at the start when your eyeballs feel a bit of heat near the eyelids, but everyone feels quite comfortable. Russ (n.d.). Dry Eyes: What Is Intense Pulsed Light Therapy? After the treatment, you’ll still need to use eye drops, or you might need to keep up your lid hygiene. I might suggest some home therapy to you, so you’ll still need to keep up those things after the treatment.
