How do I know if I’m suitable for laser eye surgery?
The self-test on our eye laser surgery website will give you an indication of whether you are a candidate, and whether you’re suitable for eye laser surgery. However, I strongly recommend that you make time to come and see us at the clinic where we can thoroughly assess the suitability of your eyes for laser vision correction.
Take the self-test here.
The whole assessment procedure takes about an hour. There’ll be a number of investigations. We will perform a complete refraction and examination of your eyes. At the end of the assessment, we’ll be able to advise you in detail, whether you are a candidate for laser vision correction and which laser vision correction procedure is best for you.
In a situation where you may not be suitable for laser vision correction, we may offer you lens-based vision correction procedures, such as ICL or clear lens extraction. At the end of the consultation, you should have a good understanding of the procedures that we recommend for you and be able to make an informed decision as to which is most appropriate in your case.
If you’re considering having eye laser surgery and being free of the burden of glasses or contact lenses, then we encourage you to do the self-test. It’ll only take a few minutes of your time to find out whether you might be a good candidate for this procedure, and it’ll be the first step in your journey to having greater vision without glasses.
