Does lens replacement hurt?

Lens replacement surgery is similar to cataract surgery. The actual surgery is done with you awake. It’s usually done with a topical anaesthetic with mild sedation. It’s a painless surgery.

Your eyes can feel a little bit scratchy afterwards, but it’s really well-tolerated surgery in the vast majority of cases.
